Possession of a visa does not guarantee entry — immigration officers may request additional documents at arrival.

🧾 VFS Service Charges (India)

Service charge applies even for applicants exempted from visa fees and is non-refundable under all circumstances.

📄 Required Documents (General Guidelines)

All documents must be original or clear copies as per Japan Visa Centre (VFS) specifications.

Mandatory Documents

  • Completed and signed Japan Visa Application Form

  • Valid passport (minimum 2 blank pages; valid for entire travel duration)

  • Recent passport-size photograph (as per Japan photo specifications)

  • Confirmed travel itinerary (flight bookings and hotel stay)

  • Proof of financial means (recent bank statements, ITR, income proof, etc.)

  • Purpose-specific supporting documents:

    • Tourism: Detailed itinerary or tour confirmation

    • Business: Invitation letter, meeting details, guarantee letter from Japanese company

    • Family Visit: Invitation letter and relationship proof (koseki tohon, family certificate, etc.)

Visa Fee + VFS Service Charge are payable at submission.

🔁 Refund Policy

  • Visa Fee: Refundable only if the visa is not approved by the Consulate.

  • VFS Service Fee: Non-refundable under all circumstances.

  • Applications must be filed in the correct jurisdiction; those submitted to the wrong Consulate will not be accepted.

  • Processing time and document requirements may vary depending on visa category, applicant nationality, and case complexity.

  • The Embassy/Consulate reserves the right to request additional documents or conduct interviews.
